Say Goodbye to Gas Fees: Tron’s Innovative Stablecoin Transfer Solution Unveiled

Tron founder Justin Sun has disclosed his team is creating a no-cost stablecoin solution to allow free peer-to-peer transfers.

Sun plans to introduce this stablecoin system on the Tron blockchain in the fourth quarter then onto Ethereum and other Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible public chains.

“Transfers can be made without paying any gas tokens, with the fees being covered by the stablecoins themselves,” Sun explained in a July 6 X post.

He did not describe how this system will operate.

Sun thinks these free stablecoins might change the game for businesses wanting to provide stablecoin services.

Tron is the leader in the market for stablecoin transfers among peers. It processes two to three times the volume that Ethereum does. Artemis, a firm that studies blockchains, pointed this out in an X post on June 27.

Tron holds over $50 billion of Tether’s value. Across various blockchains, the total value issued is $112 billion, according to DeFiLlama.

Stablecoins will become 10% of money in about ten years, says the Circle CEO.

Tron’s method might rival PayPal’s PYUSD. This service lets some users in the United States send payments across borders without a fee.

Circle and cryptocurrency exchange Binance just stopped supporting USDC on Tron providing Tron with a reason to create their own solution.

Tron is also looking into creating a Bitcoin layer 2 method to support a “wrapped” version of Tether, which could allow billions of dollars to enter the Bitcoin network.

For now, Tron uses current cross-chain methods to connect USDT and other tokens between Bitcoin and Tron.
