When a dark threat from his childhood comes back to haunt him, a father desperately battles his deepest inner fear. Only this time, he’s not fighting for himself, but for his family. This is the first PG-13 horror film to bear the Lionsgate Red Gears logo since 2012’s The Possession. Patrick McKee: Since we moved back, I’ve been all excited about Jake being kidnapped. I mean, come on… your house has been broken into ten times and you’re still watching your kid on a monitor, leaving him unattended in a tub, and constantly moving out of sight of the kid so things can continue? Where is the common sense when it comes to writing? I understand that movies need points of tension, but if you have to insult our intelligence to create tension, that’s just a recipe for a bad review. No parent is going to put their father-in-law, who was attacked, to bed with them while they watch their baby on a monitor in another room. The story has a lot of gaps and is terribly edited. At one point there was a loud bang in the baby’s room and both parents started running. Somehow in those 2 seconds the woman was on the phone with the police. God, that was awful.
